Nigerian Police Stop Naval Officer Lt. Yerima in Abuja Under Unclear Circumstances [Video]
A new video has emerged showing police officers intercepting Lieutenant Ahmed Yerima, a naval officer, during a routine patrol in the Kubwa area of Abuja.
The officers stopped a tinted Toyota Camry with its number plate partly concealed, prompting them to demand the driver’s identity. In the recording, the policemen can be heard questioning the occupant, who then presents his military identification card.
The video does not reveal Yerima’s face, but his voice is clearly heard as he responds to the officers’ enquiries.
The brief encounter has attracted public interest because Yerima recently appeared in another viral video involving a confrontation with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
That earlier incident brought him into the national spotlight and sparked widespread debate about inter-agency conduct and the limits of authority.
The latest clip has revived conversations about security checks in the Federal Capital Territory and the growing attention surrounding Yerima’s interactions with other law enforcement agencies.
