Victor Osimhen has made history as the most expensive footballer ever signed by a Turkish club, following his €75 million transfer to Galatasaray from Napoli.
The Nigerian striker, 26, was officially presented to Galatasaray supporters in Istanbul on Wednesday night, with thousands attending the unveiling ceremony.
Osimhen initially joined the Turkish champions on loan but has now committed to a permanent deal after Galatasaray triggered his release clause.
His transfer far surpasses the previous record in Turkey, set by Youssef En-Nesyri’s €19.5 million move to Fenerbahce. Other high-profile signings in the Turkish Super Lig include Gabriel Sara (€18 million), Mario Jardel (€17 million), and Nicolo Zaniolo (€15 million) — all former or current Galatasaray players.
