OBITUARY – Why President Buhari may be dead

In December, 2018, BBC reported that President Buhari has denied rumours that he has died and been replaced by a body double. “It’s [the] real me, I assure you,” BBC quoted Buhari. The rumour became strong after lengthy stay in the United Kingdom for undisclosed illness on different occasions. The trips took millions of dollars from the Nigeria coffers and details shrouded in secrecy. Buhari’s health became a sensitive issue due to the 2010 death in office of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua after months of treatment abroad. Even though all fingers pointed to a hidden agenda by the migrant Fulani Oligarchy, which have been remotely in control of Nigeria since the end of the war in 1970, events have shown the muscling of Nigerians through bribing major news houses, diplomats and lobbyists with the support of Britain.

Although many Nigerians know Rtd. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari as being sympathetic to Sharia law application in the country, they worry over the attitudes of the impostors used at different periods. Recauling on assumption of office in 2015, President Buhari directed in his inaugural address that the Army headquarters relocate immediately to Maiduguri to meet the Boko Haram challenge head-on. The military headquarters followed with a statement saying, “The new centre in Maiduguri would serve as a forward command base for the chief of army staff and other service chiefs.

The move would boost the campaign against Boko Haram – known as Operation Restore Peace – without creating another layer of command structure”, the statement said. Unfortunately, President Buhari’s illness and death made service chiefs renege on this security policy as subsequent decisions saw terrorists find their way into the security forces. Although it is greatly under reported, many soldiers have died due to sabotage of the ‘born again’ terrorists that find their way back into the army. Some were earlier dismissed by the Jonathan administration on discovery, but reabsorbed when Buhari came in.
The coronavirus pandemic exposed lots happening in the Nigeria system; from avoiding face to face interviews, state visits and opening of integrated government projects to presidential embezzlement of public funds. The covid-19 era borrowing frightened many, but showed why Sir Frederick Lugard said Fulani are spendthrifts and squanderers. And the money lenders loved it so they can have a stake in sharing the resources and markets.

The international community have kept quiet over accusations of a Buhari body double operating in Aso Rock, because they love to lord it over Africans especially blacks. How can those who enslaved children of Africa, colonized and imposed stooges on the continent allow progress? Africa was partitioned for economic purposes and the status quo maintained ever since. African countries have been programmed as a market for developed economies, hence developments such as Buhari’s death will truncate their market trajectory as Buhari’s regime exposed the deep flaws in Nigeria.

Sources say the United Kingdom benefits over 100 billion pounds in the Nigerian market yearly, and will fight to keep it flowing. One of the reasons Nigeria did not work for its people was due to British colonial policies. First, they tailored the mechanisms of power to favour migrant and nomadic Fulani minorities against others.

Understanding the pattern of indirect ruling system Fulani adopted over their conquered Hausa vassals, the British empowered them as neocolonialists in Nigeria. Despite the numerous tribes in the north, the British left the region intact under the Fulani Oligarch while doing a seditious incitement on the few tribes in the south to balkanize it as a way to share the rich mineral wealth. They left all the feudalistic priviledges of the Fulani, and the worst of it, handing power to Islamic jihadist whereas they brought Anglochristianity. Now that the death of Buhari is being felt, the chicken has come home to roost.

A major factor why Buhari’s death is so hard to swallow for many is the fear of Biafra restoration. Like a recurring decimal, the conscience of the international community is troubled over the injustice against the Biafran people. Even though they have deliberately downplayed the statistics of deaths during the Nigeria – Biafra war, the carnage goes on unabated. More so, agreeing to the death of Buhari when deafening evidence abounds, will accede to the demands for a referendum by activists. On another note, Biafra signifies a spiritual and psychological loss for enemies of black Africa, the former slaves. They may pretend, but in Biafra, Africa and the black world will be inspired. Many Western leaders and retrogressive forces want Africa at a standstill by undermining genuine and accelerated growth through different routes. So they have feigned ignorance at the daily massacre and all the indices of leadership failure at play since the reported death of President Buhari.

Finally, they have tried to use every available means of communication to counter the news of President Buhari’s death. A major attack on AfricaWorld News group has steadily been perfected by mainstream International operators. Identifying our channels as a rising independent media platform has been a concern.

The award of our 2020 Man of the Year Award to former United States leader, Donald J Trump became a troubling issue to them. No matter the argument and media campaign against him, President Trump never interfered with Africans’ desire for development. On that note, AfricaWorld News identified with his administration. We hope President Biden will take such steps to support the aspirations of ordinary Africans. The fact is that accepting that President Buhari died and they allowed a body double will be embarrassing to the international community.
