Oyo Abduction: Ayodele Warns Tinubu May Be Disgraced Out of Office
Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has reacted strongly to the recent abduction of students and teachers in Oyo State, warning that Nigeria’s worsening security situation could have serious political consequences for the presidency if not urgently addressed.
In a statement released through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the cleric criticised the country’s leadership, accusing politicians of failing to respond effectively to repeated security warnings and rising attacks across communities.
He described the handling of insecurity as deeply troubling, insisting that both political leaders and some religious figures have not lived up to expectations in speaking truthfully and acting decisively.
Ayodele said Nigeria’s security system appears overwhelmed, noting that warnings about possible attacks are often ignored until tragedies occur.
He stated that the current situation reflects a broader national failure, adding that urgent intervention is needed to prevent further deterioration.
In his words: “Our politicians are heartless and satanic to the nation… even our clerics have failed us, including security operatives. If it were an advanced country, we would have gotten a lasting solution.”
The cleric also criticised religious institutions, including CAN and PFN, for what he described as silence in the face of national insecurity, arguing that moral leadership has been weakened.
He warned that President Bola Tinubu could face severe political consequences if insecurity persists, including what he described as being “disgraced out of office.”
Ayodele further faulted Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde over his public engagements following the abduction incident, describing it as insensitive given the situation.
He maintained that he had repeatedly warned about potential attacks on schools, urging authorities to take such warnings more seriously to prevent further incidents.
