The Kano State Police Command has confirmed that the 16th Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido, will lead the Friday prayers at the Central Mosque.
This announcement comes amid speculation that the 15th Emir, Alhaji Aminu Bayero, would be leading the prayers. Commissioner of Police Usaini Gumel clarified that Bayero will instead observe his prayers at the mosque within Nasarawa Palace, where he currently resides. Gumel assured the public of robust security measures at the Emir’s Palace, ensuring a peaceful and secure environment for the Friday prayers.
The police have urged the public to disregard false reports on social media and continue their activities without fear. The public is also encouraged to report any suspicious activities to ensure prompt security responses.
