School Teacher Arrested After Alleged Sexual Contact With Student For Six Minutes
A high school teacher in Florida has been arrested following allegations of inappropriate conduct involving a male student, after school authorities received a tip-off that triggered a rapid police investigation.
The suspect, identified as 46-year-old Leroy Wright Jr., a former reading teacher at Miami Jackson Senior High School, was taken into custody after officials were alerted to claims of an improper relationship with a student.
According to reports, the allegation was first raised through an anonymous email sent to the school principal, prompting an internal review before the matter was escalated to district authorities and the Miami-Dade Schools Police Department.
Investigators say the student later described a pattern of close interactions with the teacher, which allegedly escalated beyond professional boundaries and involved repeated physical contact inside the school environment.
Police further stated that the teacher had regular contact with the student through school-related activities and had also provided transportation on some occasions, which formed part of the investigation.
Following interviews and evidence review, authorities arrested Wright and confirmed that he made an admission during questioning after waiving his legal rights.
He has been charged with unlawful sexual activity with a minor, possession of inappropriate material involving a minor, and misconduct by an authority figure.
Wright is currently being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on bond as legal proceedings continue.
