Stakeholders in Nigeria’s emergency management emphasized the importance of teamwork during a training session for first responders in Lagos, organized by the Lagos State Command and Control Centre in collaboration with Leapsoft Ltd. The training focused on standardizing emergency response.

Mr. Sesan Ogundeko, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Special Duties, encouraged participants to fully engage in the training, stating that the governor’s investment in safeguarding lives and property must be justified.

He emphasized, “I urge the participants to apply themselves to the training to justify the huge investment the governor is making in ensuring the protection of lives and property of Lagos residents.”

The training, according to Mr. Femi Giwa, General Manager of the Lagos Command and Control Centre, is designed to enhance the capacity of first responders to manage emergencies and make quick decisions.

He noted, “This training will provide them the capacity to understand the response plan of the state and make quick decisions when faced with emergency situations.”

Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, pointed out that teamwork is critical for efficient emergency management, adding, “Team management is the key way to be efficient and effective in the management of emergencies in the state.”

Finally, Mr. Abiodun Adeoye, Managing Director of Leapsoft, emphasized the importance of coordinated teamwork in Lagos’ emergency response efforts. He said, “Emergency response in Lagos State is a coordinated process involving teamwork.”
