Nigerian techpreneur Linus “Blord” Williams has sharply criticized media personality VeryDarkMan (VDM) over the mysterious disappearance of N160 million from the latter’s NGO account. VDM, who had initially attributed the loss to hackers and ongoing investigations, received widespread support and a hefty donation from figures like Don Jazzy. However, Blord isn’t buying the story, accusing VDM of being a “thief” who “learned it from his mother.”
Blord made these scathing remarks on his X (formerly Twitter) account, calling VDM a “better thief” and implying that VDM’s history of showy displays, including flaunting luxury cars, raises doubts about his integrity. The controversy comes amid public skepticism about the missing funds, as some argue that VDM’s claims could be a cover for foul play.
This dispute is not new. Blord and VDM have had public disagreements in the past, and this latest incident has intensified the feud. While some followers defended VDM, urging patience for the investigation to unfold, others, like Blord, are not holding back.
It is easy to jump to conclusions in situations like these, especially when there’s already a history of tensions. Both Blord’s direct accusation and the allegations of foul play speak to the complexities surrounding public trust and accountability, particularly in charitable ventures. While it’s important to await the outcome of investigations, it’s clear that public figures should be extra careful when handling sensitive issues like finances, as their reputations are often on the line.
