Just hours to tomorrow’s National Day of Prayers, the christians for Lungu camp has fallen under deep chaos after the pro-Lungu pastors disclosed to their gullible followers that the former republican president, Edgar Lungu is unlikely to attend the prayers.

A Lungu aligned pastor told AfricaWorld Reports on anonymity conditions last Friday that some senior members of his camp were opposed to President Hakainde Hichilema’s removal of the Religious Ministry while others vowed to work with the new government for survival:

“Much as we agree with President Hichilema’s new vision, we are strongly opposed to the removal of the Religious Ministry………..It’s disappointing that some of our pastors can’t see anything wrong with pledging to work with this government. Anyway, I’m sure Zambians are now realizing that President Lungu was a David. This one is a Saul.”

Asked whether he is available for tomorrow’s prayers, the pastor said:

“Tomorrow’s prayers are a mockery to us who worked tirelessly to preserve christian values against evil vices such gay rights. Today, the same things we fought against are being embraced. What a shame!”

Lungu whose seven-year presidency was riddled with plunder of national resources, corruption, tribal and regional appointments including a tribal menace against the Tonga speaking people, is greatly remembered for introducing the Religious Ministry which he used to hoodwink the christian faithfuls.

In its five years of existence, the ministry’s greatest achievement was to stop South Africa’s well-built entertainer, Zodwa Wabantu from entering a christian nation with a thriving sex business.

Several officials of the former ruling Patriotic Front -PF-, have allegedly rubished their master initiated October 18 prayers saying the new government wants to use prayers for political expediency.

PF’s binoculars movement leader, Raphael Nakachinda, Vice President Given Lubinda and the tribal pontiff, Chishimba Kambwili, have confirmed that they will not attend tomorrow’s prayers which the party described as “a sham.”

Meanwhile, the ruling United Party for National Development -UPND-, says it has depoliticized National Prayers adding that no political regalia will be allowed at the event.
