Chidimma Adetshina, the runner-up of the Miss Universe competition, has decided to quit pageantry, citing emotional distress from the experience. In a recent interview with Silverbird TV, she shared that her time in pageantry had been traumatic. “Finishing in the top 2 is still a shocker for me… Honestly, I am done,” Adetshina expressed.

She also revealed that she felt misunderstood by others and even considered quitting during the Miss Universe competition. Moving forward, she plans to focus on personal growth and further her education.

Adetshina had previously been crowned Miss Universe Africa and Oceania after finishing as the first runner-up at Miss Universe. She had also withdrawn from the Miss South Africa competition due to criticism of her nationality before winning Miss Nigeria.

In my view, it is important to prioritize mental health, and Chidimma’s decision reflects her desire for a more peaceful and fulfilling path. It is commendable that she is choosing to focus on herself and her future.
