Soyinka Breaks Silence, Calls Out Petty-Minded Dictator Over Visa Revocation
Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has lashed out at United States President Donald Trump, describing him as a “petty-minded dictator” following the mass revocation of visas and green cards under his administration.
Speaking in an interview with BBC News Pidgin on Facebook, Soyinka said he was not surprised that his own U.S. visa was revoked, insisting that he had predicted such actions long before they happened.
“This is a petty-minded dictator,”
Soyinka said. “You can see how he deals with people he hates. We saw that dark side of America — the hate rhetoric, the rise in police killings of Black people and minorities, all of it was there during his campaign.”
The literary icon recalled warning that Trump’s leadership would bring drastic measures against immigrants and foreigners.
“I said it before, go and check. I warned that when that man comes to power, the first thing he will do is cancel even the green cards,” he stated.
