The House of Representatives, on November 2, removed the N5 billion presidential yacht from the 2023 supplementary budget. Abubakar Bichi, the chairperson of the House Committee on Appropriation (APC, Kano), made the announcement following the passage of the N2.17 trillion supplementary budget. Bichi explained that the committee reallocated the funds, amounting to N10 billion, to the student loan division. According to The Nation, the President expressed no interest in the yacht, clarifying that it was intended for the Navy.
