Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has opened up about her personal life at 52, revealing that she is both single and childless.
In a recent interview with Pulse Nigeria, Akintola shared that her relationship status was not a conscious decision, stating, “Not chosen oo.” She also confirmed that she does not have children, saying, “No, I don’t unfortunately.”
Born on May 5, 1973, Akintola has had a remarkable career in Nollywood since making her debut in the 1995 film Owo Blow.
Over the years, she has built a solid reputation, starring in numerous films and television series, including her recent role as Inspector Mo Ogunlesi in Kemi Adetiba’s To Kill a Monkey.
While societal expectations often place pressure on women to marry and have children, Akintola emphasized that she has no regrets about her personal journey. Instead, she has focused on her career and personal growth.
“I never planned to be single or childless, but I make the best of it,” she explained. With a degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Ibadan, Akintola’s continued commitment to her craft has kept her relevant in Nollywood for more than two decades.
