FOREIGN: Former Chilean President Sebastián Piñera Dies in Helicopter Crash

Former Chilean President Sebastián Piñera, aged 74, died in a tragic helicopter crash along with three others in southern Chile.

Despite rescue efforts, Piñera was pronounced dead at the scene, while the identities of the other passengers remained undisclosed but survived. President Gabriel Boric declared three days of national mourning, with plans for a state funeral to honor Piñera’s memory. Piñera’s passing has elicited condolences from leaders across Latin America.
