Demonstrating University of Liberia students clashed with police on Monday, forcing the institution to suspend undergraduate classes indefinitely.
The BBC reported, Wednesday, that a student protest ensued following the university’s decision to in-person classes with online classes citing COVID-19 concerns.
Students told this publication that the university had not finalized e-learning programme adding that not learning could take place online.
Liberia social media spaces were on Monday flooded with images of blood-soaked students where receiving treatment at a local hospital.
Meanwhile, the university authorities did not comment on allegations of having non-functional e-learning system but expressed regret for the damage to property and students injured during the confrontations.
