The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) is planning a protest in Imo State on November 1, accusing the state government of neglecting workers’ rights and welfare. NLC President Joe Ajaero highlighted various grievances, including non-payment of salaries, failure to implement previous agreements, outstanding salary arrears of about 20 months, wrongful classification of workers and pensioners as ghost beneficiaries, and the state government’s non-compliance with the national minimum wage. The NLC is mobilizing its members to address these issues through a protest.
