During the ceremony of the 2023 second Plenary Assembly of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), whose president is Archbishop Lucius Ugorji, cautionary message was released to the Supreme Court of Nigeria. The bishops urged the supreme not to take sides with any political party in their judgement. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) have stood up to challenge the 2023 election results and judgement delivered by the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC). They have gone ahead to take their grievances to the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Archbishop Lucius faulted the the judgement of the PEPC with the inability of INEC to transmit election regardless of huge amount of money invested. He is hopeful that one day election results will no longer be taken to court but settled in the polling stations. The bishop also expressed the disappointment felt by the citizens over the irregularities in the 2023 elections. #OMAGIST@AFRICAWORLDNEWS
