The Kaduna Police Command has detained the principal and the vice-principal of Al-Azhar School in Zaria, Kaduna State, after a tragic incident involving the severe mistreatment of a J.S.S 3 student Marwanu Nuhu Sambo. Sambo was subjected to over 150 strokes of and severe physical punishment by school officials, leading to his tragic demise.The police have initiated a full-scale investigation into the matter and the two suspects have been arrested. The school administration has claimed that the punishment was not part of its policy and has suspended the officers responsible, handing them over to the Nigerian Police Force for further investigation.
