Pastor David Abioye has started his own church months after retiring from the Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel, led by Bishop David Oyedepo.
Abioye, who served as vice-president of the church, stepped down in October 2024 after a new leadership policy set the retirement age at 55. He retired at 63, alongside Pastor Thomas Aremu, who was 67.
Following his departure, Abioye launched a non-denominational ministry with evening Sunday services.
However, on April 27, he announced that the services would move to Sunday mornings starting May 4, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.
Sharing the news on his official X account, he wrote:
“By the grace of God, starting next Sunday, our service is moving to the morning — 8:00AM. It’s a new day for you — come ready to be blessed mightily in Jesus’ name.”
He encouraged followers to attend and invite others, signaling a new chapter in his ministry.
