Philippe Lazzarini,
Commissioner-General of UNRWA, reported that “at least 400,000 Palestinians remain trapped in northern Gaza” due to escalating Israeli military actions. He highlighted that recent evacuation orders force residents to flee repeatedly, yet many refuse, knowing no area is safe.
Lazzarini noted the closure of UNRWA shelters for the first time since the war began, leading to a resurgence of hunger. As the humanitarian situation deteriorates, many families are facing severe shortages of basic supplies.
Meanwhile, Hamas and Fatah leaders are holding unity talks in Cairo to address the ongoing Israeli aggression. Recent strikes have resulted in additional civilian casualties, with reports indicating that at least 18 people, including children, were killed in the latest bombardments. This ongoing violence continues to exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in the region.
