Two-time African champion with 99 Nigeria caps takes up management role at WAFU-B
Nigerian football legend Precious Dede has been appointed the new Women’s Football Development Manager for WAFU-B, the West Africa Football Union Zone B.
Her appointment marks an important step in improving women’s football structures across the region.
With 99 caps for Nigeria and two African Women’s Championship titles, Dede brings a wealth of experience that will help guide technical growth, grassroots programmes and coaching development.
Dede, a former Super Falcons captain, enjoyed a remarkable international and club career.
She played in four FIFA Women’s World Cups, three Olympic Games and represented top teams such as Delta Queens, Ibom Queens and Arna-Bjørnar in Norway before retiring in 2016.
Since then, she has stayed active within football development and currently works as the Assistant Coach of Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos.
Her deep knowledge of the women’s game makes her a strong addition to WAFU-B’s long-term development plans.
In her new role, Dede will oversee programmes that create opportunities for young girls, improve technical standards across member nations and promote visibility for women’s football in West Africa.
She will also help design competition structures and support national associations in meeting CAF development requirements.

Her leadership is expected to play a major part in shaping the next phase of women’s football growth in the region.
