ABCD Expands Board As Nortey joins, Raising Stakes for institutional credibility.
PORT HARCOURT – The
Albert Badey Centre for Development (ABCD) has appointed Chief ThankGod Adoage T. Norteh to its Board of Trustees ahead of its official launch scheduled for April 25, 2026.
The appointment increases the board membership from 12 to 13.
This is contained in a statement issued by Ibelema Green, the Executive Director of the Centre in Port Harcourt.
Norteh, a chartered accountant, is a former Chairman of the Rivers State Board of Internal Revenue Service.
He also served as National Vice President of the Nigeria Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA).
According to the statement, his appointment is expected to strengthen the Centre’s capacity in public financial management, fiscal governance and institutional reform.
The Board of Trustees is chaired by former Minister, Sen. Benneth Birabi.
Other members include Sen. Andrew Uchendu, Prof. Alexis Monsi, Mr John Pascal Nalley and Mr Michael Aloega.
Also on the board are Otunba Segun Owoeye, Engr. Gabriel Deage, Tombari Badey, Gogobari Badey, Dr Mrs Sirah Badey-Igbedion, Mrs Tonta Badey-Linden and the founder, Mr Suage Badey.
The statement said the Centre is established to promote good governance, leadership and policy implementation through research, training and advisory services.
It added that the Centre would operate through the Gabriel Toby and Albert Badey Institute of Public Administration.
It further stated that the launch would feature an inaugural lecture by Dr Emmanuel Denenu, while former Deputy Governor, Sir Gabriel Toby, would chair the event.
