Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Face or 2Baba, has spoken candidly about the painful struggles in his marriage to actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia. In a teaser from the +234 Mzansi Podcast, the award-winning singer described the experience as emotionally suffocating, saying, “This thing they call ‘living in bondage’ is real.”
2Face also hinted at the intense pressure and danger he faced during that period, revealing, “There were people who were ready to kill me,” in reference to the toxic environment surrounding the marriage.
Married in 2012, the couple share two daughters and were once seen as a symbol of enduring love in Nigeria’s entertainment industry. However, the relationship was frequently rocked by public scandals and infidelity rumors. On January 26, 2025, 2Face confirmed their separation through a striking social media post, officially ending the union.
Shortly after, he appeared in public with a new partner, Natasha Osawuru, a serving member of the Edo State House of Assembly.
Though the full podcast episode is yet to air, the brief preview has already sparked nationwide conversations, revealing the hidden emotional toll behind one of Nigeria’s most publicized celebrity marriages.
