MTN Group has been honoured with induction into the first-ever Brand Africa Hall of Fame, a recognition of its long-term contribution to African markets and its role in promoting a positive African identity.

The telecommunications company also claimed multiple top spots in the 2025 Brand Africa 100 rankings, including:

  • Most Admired African Brand contributing to a Better Africa
  • Most Admired African Brand (spontaneous recall)
  • Most Admired Brand for Social and Environmental Impact
  • Most Admired Telecommunications Brand

The Brand Africa Hall of Fame was launched to acknowledge brands that have demonstrated consistent excellence and influence on the continent over the last decade. MTN’s recognition is tied to its initiatives in digital inclusion, financial services expansion, and broader social impact.

The rankings are based on an independent survey covering over 30 African countries, accounting for more than 85% of Africa’s population and economic output.

Commenting on the recognition, MTN Group President and CEO Ralph Mupita said the awards reflect the company’s ongoing efforts to support Africa’s development. “Being inducted into the Hall of Fame and recognised as the most admired African brand, especially during Africa Month, is deeply meaningful. It affirms the trust placed in MTN and reinforces our commitment to making a positive impact,” he stated.

Mupita also credited the dedication of MTN employees, partners, and stakeholders across Africa for the achievement, emphasizing their shared role in building a trusted and impactful brand.
