A community in Nigeria has been gripped by shock after a man identified as Eze Amadi was arrested in Kajola, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, for allegedly murdering his neighbour’s 28-year-old son, Ifeanyi Otu, and attempting to conceal the body in a disturbing manner.
According to residents, Amadi reportedly tortured the young man to death, wrapped his remains inside a mattress, and stuffed it into a water drum with plans to dispose of it under the cover of darkness. His plan, however, was exposed when community members spotted him trying to move the drum on a motorcycle.
The suspect, who lived close to the victim’s family, was apprehended by locals and handed over to the Nigerian police.
Ondo State Police spokesperson, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the arrest, noting that investigations are ongoing to uncover the motive behind the act. He added that the suspect will be prosecuted once investigations are concluded.
The incident has left residents of Kajola in deep grief and confusion, with many Nigerians calling for justice and swift legal action against the accused.
