The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has launched a three-day operation to remove counterfeit Milo chocolate drinks from markets across Bauchi State.
Dr. Paul Kamai, the State Director of NAFDAC, disclosed this in an interview on Wednesday, explaining that the inspections commenced following orders from the agency’s headquarters. “This exercise will last for three days starting Tuesday,” Kamai stated.
In addition, NAFDAC plans to meet with agrochemical dealers to discuss the dangers of using banned chemicals like Dictholoruvis and Paraquat on food crops, especially as the harvest season approaches. The agency also reminded bakers and packaged water producers to renew their licenses within the required two-year period to avoid penalties that could disrupt their operations.
Kamai urged small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to register their products with NAFDAC to facilitate their entry into the Nigerian market.
