Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has sounded the alarm over a sudden exodus of Nigerian political figures, including governors, senators, and ministers. In a viral social media video, Fayose highlighted that these officials are hastily leaving the country in response to planned nationwide protests.
Mass Protests Loom
The protests, organized by discontented Nigerian youths and activists, aim to address widespread dissatisfaction with the nation’s governance. The movement has gained substantial support on social media, with many Nigerians rallying behind the cause.
President Tinubu’s Response
In a separate development, President Bola Tinubu declared that he financed his election campaign personally, stating, “I have no cabal. I have no sponsors.” Speaking to Islamic leaders at the State House, Tinubu emphasized his commitment to economic reforms and social welfare improvements. He warned against protests fueled by “anger and hate,” cautioning that they could escalate into violence and destabilize the country.
Tinubu assured that measures are being taken to support vulnerable Nigerians, including increasing the minimum wage and providing financial aid for education and consumer credit.
Unity and Stability Urged
Tinubu criticized protest sponsors, accusing them of placing personal ambitions above national interest. He called for unity and cautioned against premature and divisive politics, highlighting the potential dangers of destabilizing actions.
