Ali Pate, Nigeria’s Health Minister, recently shared that people from countries such as the UK, US, and the West African region are increasingly seeking medical care in Nigeria.
This shift stresses the significant improvement in Nigeria’s healthcare system under President Tinubu’s leadership.
In a statement after the Federal Executive Council meeting, Pate emphasized that despite challenges, Nigeria’s healthcare transformation is underway.
The government has approved contracts worth N12 billion for advanced MRI equipment across six tertiary health institutions, aimed at enhancing diagnostic services.
Moreover, Nigeria has ratified the African Medicines Agency Treaty to standardize medical regulations across Africa, positioning the country to lead in pharmaceutical production and medical exports.
Pate expressed confidence that Nigeria’s medical infrastructure and regulatory frameworks are evolving to create a robust healthcare system, attracting patients globally while ensuring self-sufficiency.
