The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Lagos State Chapter, says it would focus on people’s transformation in its preachings to instill needed transformations for national development and to encourage followers spiritual growth.
The chapter, began ceremonies to commemorate its executives outstanding one-year in office with a conference on Tuesday in Lagos said that, the anniversary to review its works and projects into the future ends with a thanksgiving service on Sunday at the Global Impact Church Lagos.
Newsmen reports that, the chapter is an umbrella body of the Pentecostal Churches in Lagos State and a subsidiary of its national body.
Speaking on the leadership of the body, at its leadership workshop on Wednesday in Lagos, the Vice Chairman of the chapter, Rev. Janet Onolapo, said that, God bestowed a good leadership on the chapter since one year ago.
Onolapo, said that, the body through its strengthened Central Working Committee and provincial leadership has become pronounced and visible in the social and spiritual lives of its followers.
She said that, the chapter, in the last one year has carried out trainings and workshops for the workers to improve its service delivery to the society.
According to her the body has embarked on some pro-life projects such as humanitarian services to displaced people, social works on sanitation, free medical care for indigent to revamp its obligations to the society.
PFN Alimosho Provice Chairman, Rev. Iyke Ejiaku, said that, the state has relatively been peaceful and the body’s good social works could be linked to the peaceful posture of the state.
Ejiaku, urged Non Governmental Organisations, to speak to governments to initiate projects that would foster public good and foster sense of belonging in the people.
He said that, the Church has been into rehabilitation of streets urchins to make them better persons in the society.
He said that, the visibility of the body in the society of late has accorded it the recognition to participate as an observer in just concluded Local Council election in Lagos State.
Speaking earlier during a press conference to herald the anniversary, the PFN Lagos Chapter Chairman Rev. Yemi Davids said that, the body is reviewing its sermon message content and religious teachings to transform people.
According to him such transformation measures when internalised will aid in combating corruption and promote a renewed sense of patriotism among Nigerians.
“One of the key achievements of the executive in its first year in office is the conscious shift in preaching content toward national reorientation, moral rebirth, and anti-corruption advocacy,” he said.
