A 17-year-old mother from Labi community in Oyo has tragically lost her life following a disagreement with her husband over the preparation of two cups of rice for breakfast.
The husband suggested the two cups would be too much for the wife and their young child, but the wife disagreed, leading to a heated argument. After the argument, the wife prepared the food and went about her day.
However, she later consumed a poisonous substance, which led to severe weakness and vomiting. Despite attempts to get her medical help, she passed away and was buried the following day.
A family source revealed, “The issue started with a simple disagreement over rice measurement. The husband left to avoid further conflict, but after she drank the poison, her condition worsened quickly, and we rushed her to the hospital.”
The community remains in shock after the incident.
