Veteran Nollywood actor Tom Njeamanze has made an urgent plea for financial assistance to cover the costs of his cancer treatment. According to The Daily Post, the actor, currently hospitalized, posted an emotional video on social media this Tuesday, where he disclosed his ongoing battle with prostate cancer and the pressing need for immediate surgery.
In the video, filmmaker Stanley Ontop, who has been helping to amplify the appeal, called on fans to rally behind the actor in his time of need. “Tom Njeamanze is one of our Nollywood legends, and he needs immediate surgery,” Ontop urged. “Please, every little contribution matters. Let’s come together and help our legend survive.”
Njeamanze, known for his memorable roles in films such as Issakaba, Tokunboh, Pounds and Dollars, and Osuofia in London, has left a lasting imprint on the Nollywood industry. His fans, both in Nigeria and abroad, have long admired his talent and commitment to his craft.
This urgent call for help follows a similar appeal made by fellow actor John Amaefule, who just months ago sought financial assistance for his own battle with partial stroke and cancer. The frequent financial struggles faced by Nollywood stars in the face of health crises have drawn attention to the need for greater support for actors in need.
Njeamanze’s doctors have emphasized the critical nature of his condition, stressing that the necessary funds are required immediately to ensure his survival. While his fans have already begun contributing, there is still a continued effort to raise the full amount needed for the surgery.
As Tom Njeamanze’s fight against cancer intensifies, his supporters are hopeful that the Nollywood community can come together to provide the financial aid needed to give him a fighting chance. In the coming days, it will be clear whether this collective effort can help him overcome this illness.
