Salvation Ministries Denies Viral Claim That David Ibiyeomie Cursed Nnamdi Kanu
A viral social media post alleging that David Ibiyeomie declared that Nnamdi Kanu would “die in prison” has been officially debunked by Salvation Ministries.
The controversial post, which spread rapidly across social media platforms, falsely attributed a series of inflammatory remarks to the founder of Salvation Ministries.
In the fabricated statement, Ibiyeomie was alleged to have condemned Kanu over claims that he insulted the church and urged Igbos to stop attending Yoruba churches.
However, Salvation Ministries has firmly distanced its founder from the statement.
In a public notice released on Saturday, the church described the publication as “entirely false, malicious and certainly not emanating” from Pastor Ibiyeomie.
The ministry stressed that the viral claims neither originated from the cleric nor reflected his views or official position.
“Our attention has been drawn to the false and malicious publications currently circulating online,” the statement read. “These statements are entirely false, malicious and certainly not emanating from him.”
The church further urged members of the public to disregard the content and rely solely on information disseminated through its verified and official communication channels.
The false claim had gained traction amid heightened public interest surrounding Kanu, the detained IPOB leader whose legal battles continue to generate widespread debate across Nigeria.
As misinformation continues to thrive in the digital age, the incident serves as another reminder of how easily fabricated quotes can be weaponized to inflame ethnic, religious, and political tensions.
Salvation Ministries also indicated that appropriate steps are being taken to address the matter.
For now, there is no evidence whatsoever that Pastor David Ibiyeomie made the statement attributed to him. The viral quote is fake—plain and simple.
