Victoria Beckham Opens Up on Marriage, Mental Health and Life Beyond the Spotlight
After nearly 15 years away from tabloid interviews, fashion designer and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham has lifted the lid on her private world — from her marriage to football icon David Beckham to her struggles with self-doubt and mental health.
Speaking exclusively ahead of her new Netflix documentary Victoria Beckham, the 51-year-old star revealed humorous and heartfelt details about life at home, including David’s snoring habit.
“I wear earplugs in bed,” she joked. “What do you think I’m doing it for? It’s not to look good — even my husband snores!”
Despite their glamorous lifestyle, Victoria said she and David have built their 26-year marriage on communication, humour, and everyday gestures. “We still have dinner together as a family every night — phones down, everyone talks,” she said. “It’s about creating a safe space to laugh and be honest.”
Beyond the jokes, Victoria also spoke candidly about her personal battles. She admitted to experiencing imposter syndrome for much of her career and revealed that she has undergone therapy, describing it as “one of the healthiest things anyone can do.”
“I’m happy to say I’ve had therapy. We’re so much more aware of mental health these days — and that’s a good thing,” she said.
Victoria’s Netflix series traces her journey from pop superstardom to building a global fashion and beauty brand worth over £115 million. She discussed the discipline behind her success — her 14-hour workdays, early morning gym sessions, and relentless drive to keep evolving.
“Being strong and consistent is what helps me work properly,” she said. “I’ve turned what used to be an obsession with food into something healthier — fitness and balance.”
Victoria also reflected on her transformation from “Posh Spice” to a respected designer who now shows her collections in Paris and dresses world figures including the Princess of Wales and Michelle Obama.
“Only now do I feel I’ve earned the right to be taken seriously,” she admitted. “I finally feel I don’t have anything to prove. I am enough.”
Victoria Beckham first rose to global fame in the 1990s as “Posh Spice” of the Spice Girls, one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. After the group’s split, she reinvented herself as a fashion entrepreneur, launching a label that has since become one of Britain’s most influential luxury brands.
Her marriage to former England captain David Beckham — often hailed as one of the most enduring celebrity unions — has spanned over two decades and produced four children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper.
Her new three-part Netflix documentary, Victoria Beckham, revisits her journey through fame, motherhood, business, and marriage — showing a more candid, vulnerable, and humorous side of a woman who has long been seen as the definition of poise and perfection.
