Former US President Donald Trump has compared himself to Nelson Mandela while facing legal challenges, including accusations of infringing upon free speech and expression.
Trump, facing four criminal cases, may potentially face jail time. Despite a partial gag order imposed by Judge Juan Merchan, Trump defiantly declared on his Truth Social platform that he would embrace being a “Modern Day Nelson Mandela” if jailed for speaking the truth. This isn’t the first time Trump has drawn parallels to Mandela, having done so previously at a 2023 rally.
